Ellen Barnett M.D, Ph.D.

Director of Outreach and Program Development

Ellen Barnett, MD, PhD is a retired family physician who practiced in Sonoma County for over 40 years. Dr.Barnett has harnessed her PhD in education and her experience developing educational programs to support individuals in improving their wellbeing through the Imagine You Project. Dr. Barnett developed the Imagine You process to help her patients clarify their health goals, which helped her better support and relate with her patients. 

Dr. Barnett retired from teaching in the Sutter Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency. She served as Curriculum Director for over 10 years, and Acting Residency Director for 2 years.  At her retirement, she was a Clinical Professor of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF School of Medicine. For 10 years, Dr. Barnett served on several subcommittees of Health Action-Sonoma County. She co-created and delivered the IMCF Patient Navigator Certificate Program at Sonoma State University for five years.
