Positively impact measures of self-efficacy, contributing to a significant (14.7%) increase in the ability to develop client resilience Positively impact participant wellbeing, as measured by a 16% increase in participants reporting ‘very good’ wellbeing post-intervention. Dr. Barnett has harnessed her PhD in education and her experience developing educational programs to support individuals in improving their wellbeing through the Imagine You Program. Dr. Barnett originally developed the Imagine You approach to help her patients clarify their health goals, which helped her better support and relate with her patients. Dr. Barnett continues to serve in the Imagine You Program by training new trainers, supporting Imagine You Trainings, and promoting Imagine You in the community. Dr. Barnett retired from teaching in the Sutter Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency. She served as Curriculum Director for over 10 years, and Acting Residency Director for 2 years. At her retirement, she was a Clinical Professor of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF School of Medicine. For 10 years, Dr. Barnett served on several subcommittees of Health Action-Sonoma County. She teaches GED preparation courses as well as reading and writing courses. In addition, Claudia has been involved with AVANCE parent-child education program for 10 years in different capacities; currently, she works as a lead trainer for all Sonoma County AVANCE sites. Teaching plays a vital role in Claudia’s life. Her work with Imagine YOU and at the SRJC allows Leiva to provide a service to her community. In workshops and in the classroom, Claudia uses her role as an educator to instill positive messages in her students and help make a difference within the community. I am deeply touched by their care and commitment. Being part of the Imagine You team and community that supports and cares for these wonderful case workers, and all those working in disaster recovery, is a place where I can best serve.” Early in her career she worked throughout Europe and the US with executives and teams focusing on team cohesion and collaborative across the organization. She did numerous process redesign and performance improvement projects using commitment-based management as the design template. As a somatic coach, she works with the client’s soma (body) and language, assisting them to uncover unproductive habits, making a fuller range of choices and actions available to them. Besides being a Master Somatic Coach, she is also a Master Certified Coach, the highest credential level offered by the International Coaching Federation. In addition to a private practice, Merle is on the educational staff of the Strozzi Institue’s Somatic Coaching Program. She is awaiting her coach supervision credential from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. Among her personal achievements, she holds the rank of Nidan (2nd degree Black Belt) in Aikido.
